Alvar Aalto, Finland 1933.

Materials: Legs birch, seat; white laminate or black linoleum

Alvar Aalto invented a bending technique for the legs involving cutting a fan pattern in a piece of solid birchwood, inserting thin pieces of plywood and glue into the grooves and bending the legs into shape while applying heat resulting in a very strong structure. E60 can be used as a side-table grouped together or when not in use, stacked for easy storing. Comes un-assembled in flat-pack.
